A graduate of Keck School of Medicine of USC, Emad Mikhail, MD, is a board-certified internal medicine physician passionately committed to advancing the health of his patients through education and collaboration. He envisions himself as a guide – informing patients of their health risks, educating them on the consequences of those risks, explaining the latest recommendations and advances in science and therapies available, and then making a recommendation regarding what he believes they should do. “I advise my patients as if I were counseling my own family member on what to do,” he says. “After that, I believe in the autonomy of my patients. I respect their viewpoints based on their backgrounds and experience and leave treatment decisions up to them.”
Dr. Mikhail prides himself on running his practice as a concierge practice without the concierge prices. This means that messages will be answered and refills ordered within 24 to 48 hours. He makes sure to remain easily accessible and always insists upon the highest standard of care. As part of his practice philosophy, he believes that nutrition and exercise are the keys to preventive health.
When he’s not caring for patients, Dr. Mikhail enjoys spending time with his family, including their chocolate Labrador named Watson. He also enjoys golfing (when his wife lets him). The family also volunteers at The Midnight Mission in Los Angeles.
